Richard Wombacher, Dr. rer. nat.

Picture
Richard Wombacher is junior group leader in the Institute of Pharmacy and Molecular Biotechnology (IPMB) at the Heidelberg University.
Graduated in chemistry at the Free University of Berlin and received Ph.D. at the Heidelberg University working in the field of RNA catalysis. After a post-doc in the laboratory of Prof. V. W. Cornish at Columbia University he started his own research group at Heidelberg University, working in the field of chemical biology. His research is focused on the development and application of chemical tools for protein modification and control of protein function.

Project: Chemical tag aplications
Marcel Best studied Biomedical Chemistry at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He recieved Diploma degree in 2011 working on "Development of a C-11 labelling method for the plant hormone azelaic acid to investigate the molecular specifity of the systemic acquired resistance (SAR) in Nicotiana tabacum" at the Brookhaven National Laboratory (pubmed). He is now working towards the PhD on novel reporter systems based on chemical tags.
